Outdoor Eyeglass Cases Become Popular

Dec 16,2025

A street in Shanghai has innovatively launched a special recycling program for eyeglass cases, exploring a path that combines "waste-free city" construction with services benefiting the public.

A video of an outdoor enthusiast from Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province, conducting a real-world test went viral online. A matte black eyeglass case protected polarized lenses from damage during a heavy rainstorm, with no condensation inside the case. This product features a thickened TPU and elastic nylon composite layer, a one-handed opening and closing design, and a velvet lining with widened card slots to prevent frame deformation. Functionally, it includes a side snap for attaching keys, strap holes compatible with backpack attachment, and a lightweight design (weight unspecified) that balances portability and durability. Tests show its impact resistance can withstand being squeezed between rocks, and it has an IPX7 waterproof rating. User reviews describe it as "more durable than glasses," and it has even been used for storing earphones and spare lenses. Currently, the product has gained market traction through word-of-mouth within outdoor communities and has become standard equipment for activities such as mountaineering and cycling.
